I am 47 years old, I’m a doctor and I live in Brazil.
Last year my husband, who had the same age and was a hematologist, died of a heart attack
Three months later I started to have mild diarrhea. So I did all the laboratory tests and nothing came back positive.
They told me it was a colon reactive.

In December I traveled to Disney with my two children and the symptoms worsened. I told myself it would be no problem, just a different food.

How things have not improved when I came back I decided to repeat all the tests and then the faecal occult blood test was positive.

In a week I diagnosed the cancer and had the surgery. I thank God that was a primary tumor and without metastases.
My story only illustrates the importance of early diagnosis. I had a family history, a maternal uncle who had died with the disease,but not always we think this will happen to us.

Today I’m living again, without my beloved husband, but giving thanks to God for every day that I open my eyes and see my treasure, my children.
