Neuropathy after CPM stroke

by: Rachel, Wife on Mon, May 21 2007

My spouse of 15 years had a stroke December 24th, 2005, they named it CPM (Central Pontene Mylenosis). He was given 6 months-1 year to live and was sent to a nursing home for long term care with a feeding tube. By January 19th, 2005 he was walking and I was able to bring him home.

He is now back to normal mentally but is severely physically challenged with Neuropathy from his feet to his knees. Our next and only option is Acupunture. This has severely impacted my family and is starting to take its toll on me, physically and mentally. I am so grateful to have him back and he is so blessed that God gave him a second chance. Any suggestions out there?

I do have a word of advise for those family members suffering. Take care of yourselfs and listen to your body. Doctors do not own us….God does!
